Helen Sutton's donation made a difference.

Helen Sutton has been selected as the OLBH Foundation’s first Donor of the Month because of her enduring support of the foundation. Anyone who has visited the OLBH Cafeteria is familiar with Helen’s smiling face as she is employed by Morrison Healthcare Food Services. Helen has worked at OLBH for 23 years.
Helen developed a love for the Meals on Wheels program because of her former boss, Sharon Stephens. Stephens would often take up collections to donate to Meals on Wheels, and when she retired six years ago the collections retired with her.
It was at this time that Helen saw where she could help. She contacted OLBH Meals on Wheels coordinator Mary Ellen Conley with an idea. Helen wanted to make candy and then sell it in the OLBH Cafeteria with proceeds benefiting the Meals on Wheels program. The idea was well received, as was the candy. To date, more than $5,000 has been raised in the cafeteria between Helen’s candy sales and the previous collection drives.
OLBH assists with meals being delivered five days a week to elderly or disabled people with food being prepared by a variety of vendors and delivered by volunteers. OLBH’s local Meals on Wheels routes include the communities of Bellefonte, Burnaugh, Catlettsburg, Flatwoods, Russell, South Ashland, and Westwood, which are served by the OLBH program, and Grayson, Greenup, South Shore and Worthington area volunteers coordinate programs to serve those areas with advisory support from OLBH.
For her support of the OLBH Foundation and the hospital’s Meals on Wheels program, Helen is January’s Donor of the Month. Helen lives in Flatwoods with her husband, Scott Sutton (a chef with Morrison Healthcare Food Services) and their two dogs.
